 IN THE NEWS:

HOME DELIVERED MEAL PROGRAM UPDATE

The Park County Senior Coalition was awarded $14,000 from the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments.  The additional grant funds will buy 2800 meals.  That allows us to continue to serve the 28 we are currently serving for 20 weeks, and brings us to the end of June, which is the end of our year.

In addition, we have also received funds as a result of our appeals and The Flume’s publicity.  Mountain Mad Hatters and 3 individuals have donated $1,430.  The Coalition Board has approved changing our Transportation policy for volunteer drivers to include trips to food banks (previously only medical).

We have also gotten donations of food items and have partnered with the Park Co Sheriff's Office, Victim Services, and the Mountain Peace Shelter for the annual food and gift drive.

We are expecting to be able to serve all qualified seniors with some food.
